Whip It!

I've been on a Devo kick all afternoon! My musical taste ranges from every genre; rock, hip-hop, rap, reggae, new wave, punk, electronic, classical, opera, funk, etc. My iPad/iPods are too confused since I tend to play stuff in no random order. I'll go from Parliament's Star Child, then Van Halen's You're No Good to Outkast's BOB to Siouxsie Sioux's Face To Face, Ravel's Bolero & for you old-school bass heads D.J Magic Mike's Feel The Bass. Anyways, today is a Mark & Gerald day. Btw... I got to hang out with these guys a while back, both were extremely funny & cool!

Now playing Devo's New Traditionalist album(my favorite.)

Oh So 80's...

I got quite a few questions about my L.A Gear jacket that I was wearing in my "FAQ's July 2011" video. I actually have two, a regular blue jean & acid wash. Both were bought on eBay a few years ago.

Totally tripindicular n' rad... kewl for sure. Hahaha!

There Is No Middle...

It's either yes or no, stop or go, good or bad, etc. As much as we all try to practice the concept of complexity, realistically everything is still black & white... no grey. Upbringing & opinions we form as adults play a huge factor in our belief system. I'm guilty of it at times so no glass house here BUT I've learned(& still learning) that doing such can have either a positive or negative impact on everyday decisions. Do I expect for others to tap into their Yin/Yang for a more balanced life? No. Do I wish that people would start letting other's be, not tell them how to live their life & stop pushing conformity? Yes. I also wish I was fifthly rich, excellent health for my loved ones among other stuff. I know for sure:

-That MOST people either like me or don't... no middle
-My moods are polar opposites... no middle

But my favorite season is Autumn, a combination of just the right amount of crisp coolness with a warm Sun.
So there IS a middle!

Hot Days, Bright Delights:Look Of The Moment

Inspired by some nail art Youtube tutorials, I came up with my own simple n' slick creation by cutting a small piece of lace & placing it over my index finger... giving it sexy fishnet twist!

Something Lacey...

Though my birthday isn't until August 19th, one of my presents arrived today, a vintage 1980's(of course) avant garde fringe lace cocoon jacket! It's a creamy tan color with pearls & rhinestones over the lace. As with most of my vintage pieces I will delightfully mix & match with the most elegant to a pair of skinny jeans and some killer 5" pumps.

Ah.... lace puts a smile on my face :^)

Hot Days, Bright Delights:Look Of The Moment

Since I have such a unusual attraction to dark colored nail polish, I decided this Summer to try something different, go lighter. I'm no stranger to pinks, silver, & lighter blues but they don't live past 2 days on my nails as I soon return to my black, merlots, & indigos. So this season I will do a series of bright n' fun talons! Well.. at least try.

Emotional Strength Training...

I learned at an early age that everyday won't be sunshine, won't be a storm either. The kaleidoscope of experiences in our lives will bring fourth many ranges of emotions that one must feel in order to learn & grow from it. For me it will always & forever will be a work in progress.

I'd like to share an excerpt from one of my most favorite books, A Woman's Book Of Strength by Karen Andes:

Meditation For The Fully Realized Woman~

"My body is my home, my home a shrine to life, comfortable, warm and rich with treasures. Mine is the scent of hot spices caught in a breeze, mine the laughter that wings through the door. I share myself only with those who honor me as I am and protect myself, my house and my time from invaders".

This book helps you begin & continue your transformation into a physically, mentally & emotionally fit person. Stay fabulous!

Lace Lust!

First I must say that I'm pleasantly pleased with my latest addition. A vintage 1980's black sequin & beaded lace tux-style jacket.

My obsession with lace began at an early age. With the women in my family owning quite a few stunning pieces in their day, admiring the luxurious fabric adorned by my style icons Prince, Grace Jones, Denise Matthews, The Pointer Sisters & Stevie Nicks sent me right over the edge. While I'm sure there are plenty other lace clothing collectors that could undisputedly rival my lace wardrobe, I've come along quite well over time until now...

My must-have is the the ultimate THIGH HIGH LACE BOOTS!!!

Just like my most cherished pieces found their way into my life, I'm sure a pair of thigh high black lace boots will show up & wrap nicely around my long legs just waiting for them.

Quick Fit!

When I started my Youtube channel, the whole purpose was for two videos about the most frequently asked question that I get on a daily basis, online & in real life, my hair. Overtime I felt not only the urge to "be outside of the box" and provide various content but Youtube was a helpful outlet in my daily struggle to overcome the downside of being an Introvert.

*Note: I am in no way stating nor do I believe that being an Introvert is a bad thing since it has many good points when one comes to understand & accept it.

Now, I've always been involved in fitness & wellness for as long as I can remember. My parents were athletic in their youth, I was active as a child & have worked in the fitness & wellness industry as an adult. I live, breathe, eat & sleep fitness & wellness. For me it's equivalence is that of water & air. I need it to survive. Never being one to shy away from sharing simple lifestyle tips with others, I felt the need to add this content to my Youtube channel. Time, brainstorming, request from subscribers, & keeping it simple... Quick Fit!

Nails, Talons, Claws...

I get TONS of questions about my nails. Are they real? How long did it take you to grow them? What do you do?

First off, I must confess my addiction to nail polish. One of the simplest things to put a smile on your face is a nice coat of vibrant color on your nails. I'm not faithful to any brand but lover of darker hues, the cheap ones suit me just fine. The key is finding a really good base/top coat. As of lately I've been having fun with my nails; adding glitter, designs, etc. I'm no professional... the key word here is fun.

-Yes they are real. I don't particularly consider them to be very long seeing how I've worn them as long as 2" past my fingertips.
-Not sure of the nail growth time, I cut them off they grow right back.
-I do nothing special. The women on both my Mom & Dad side has naturally long nails, some much longer than mine so genetics MAY be a factor.

I have a blog... really?

I was a bit hesitant about creating one. Seeing how I do Youtube videos & very seldom Twitter, I felt like there wasn't really a need for me to add another form of social networking to my hobby list. Well, here's my first post! What to expect? Simplicity.
